	This, I thought, was a classic view of the modern Eskimo village: whale bones on the ground next to Tonka Toys.
In one of the villages, we came across a boat which we thought was really neat-looking. I don't know why we were quite so excited by it, but as you can tell from our happy little faces, we were well into it. Probably because it's the nicest thing in Savoonga (the Native village where we were at the time). There were some fishermen nearby watching us and they thought we were crazy.
