This was the first time for me ever to go to the Tower of London and not find a huge queue there. And of course, we had bought advance tickets to avoid queing! Well, it was worth the visit, interesting and enjoyable. The Yeoman Warder tour is definitely worth doing. For one thing, they tell you a whole bunch of information and for another it certainly means that as a group you get to go into the chapel, which is not open to individuals except for later in the day.
![]() Here is the Yeoman chap that conducted our tour. Apparently these fellow are all ex-military with twenty odd years of service. They live in the grounds of the tower with their family. Probably an OK job for the first 500 times of making the presentation |
![]() This is a display made of, as you can see, pistols, in the section of the tower that was used as an armoury. Apparently there used to be a huge quantity of gunpowder kept there as well as weapons. |
